Band rejection Discussion

My manager explained the performance band system in a way that left me disheartened. According to them, if you're working hard and giving 100% for the client, you get a "C" band. If you're working for the client and getting appreciation with no escalations, you get a "B." But only if you're working excessively — like a slave — for the client and also taking on work for other internal projects in your free time, then you get an "A."

Apparently, being the sole person on a project, working 10+ hours a day, and keeping the client happy isn’t considered enough. Despite all that, I received a "B" band.

When I shared my disappointment and mentioned that there seemed to be no recognition or motivation from either the corporate side or managers, the reviewer bluntly responded, "If you're demotivated, then B band is fine for you." That ended the discussion for me, and I asked for a release from the project.

It's extremely frustrating that despite client satisfaction, the internal politics and lack of support from leadership make it difficult to grow. This kind of culture — where recognition depends more on internal visibility and overextension rather than impact — is disheartening and, in my view, contributes to the company’s stagnation.

Fyi , They are getting A and B band even though they loose 4 fat budget projects.. bcz of their tatti attitude and 0 knowledge and accountability.

You are working for a social service organisation which gives 66% of profit to charities. You cannot think about your own growth. That's selfish. You need to think about nation building

If it's selfish for employees to think about their own growth, then why is the CEO and upper management still receiving huge hikes? Why are new employees being hired with better packages than existing ones? Shouldn't nation-building and charity begin with fair treatment of current staff?

See bro I can also say same thing like everyone else like don't work, prepare and switch etc. But the thing is I need everyone to understand this. If you just stop working and get project release or leave the company ofcourse it's good for you but management won't realise their mistake. They will rehire someone and replace you. But they have already got the work done from you. It doesn't matter for them if you ask release or leave company, they will hire someone for your place and same thing will happen to that person what happened to you and this goes on. They will get work done but we employee suffer a lot. Its like we are doing some social service for these people by working 10+ hours a day. We need to do something that they won't get out of this easily. Management should also suffer. Idk what we are supposed to do but management should also suffer like us.

There's a rule for manager that if there are 10 ppl in a team they are supposed to give A only to 2 ppl B to 4 and rest for C and D..

That is even more shittier if 10 out of 10 are hard working then the managers should have fought for their bands.. but no they are chatus they will do what saves their jobs and not what is right

Stop doing work and make them feel the same what you are feeling . When work will not be delivered they will get gali from client that will your revenge . I am dong the same and my manager is getting hard 🤣🤣🤣

Exact same happend with me i again raised a disagreement and they have scheduled a call now with HR. Lets see what happens now. I know nothing will happen but the thing is we have to raise our voices else they will take us for granted eveytime. I'll ask for promotion or else release.

Same happened with me. For release they want me to find my replacement. I have received a C band so not eligible for promotion in next cycle.

You are a lucky man! I got C for working 10+ hours daily, including some of the weekends, getting client appreciation and 100% rto compliance.
