Backend dev intern stipend range

Heard absurdly low stipend comp numbers from a few candidates. I want to pay more than this but need to provide market justification.

What is the usual range for monthly stipends for backend dev interns at startups?

If it is Tier-S talent then: I have heard 20k/mo-30k/mo if its remote. If in person then 30k/mo-40k/mo. Else: Interns are dime a dozen. 5k-15k is the general range.

Damn. They weren't lowballing themselves. Surviving on 30K per month seems a bit hard, doesn't it?

That’s how people start actually. Once you convert to Full Time then you usually make 1.5x to 3x of this.

I just got an internship at a startup. I don't know too much coding and i wanted to learn. I was just offered a conveyance allowance. Is that fair?
