Attention Seeking

What makes one grant their attention to something? I mean if I want the attention of the general public for something serious, what do you think will keep them engaged? Or is it that articulation doesn't matter but the fame of the person does?

I believe I can contribute to the society with my blogs which I believe are resourceful however I feel that once I post my thoughts out there, no one would even bother to read them because they may find it preachy.

And don't you think that we read or listen to stuff only to criticize but not to understand it? Often the content consumed is related to self help books, apart from that people only read for their entertainment or criticize the author's point of view.
