Attention nerds: Which e-ink tablet should I buy?

Hello fellow grapviners, I'm torn between buying a good e-ink tablet which I want to use as my only go to source for taking notes and reading.

I'm very clear I don't want an iPad because I don't need another phone with distractions, eye straining display, and other apps I'll never use.

I'm a writer and to be MBA student. I want something slick, simple, long lasting battery, good compatibility with ebooks, readwise, and Obsidian.

Additionally I'd want something with a good tactile feel of writing on actual paper and software support.

Hahaha. It's like dumb tech but actually kinda useful if you have used a journal or used a notebook to take a lot of meeting notes/write down stuff.

Boox note air 3 is Android with play store so you can download the obsidian app.
Also it has a frontlight which the other two don't have. Also since it's Android and not a custom OS like the other two, you can use termux, tasker and syncthing to set up automatic note sync and other automation.

Oh yes. This is what I was looking for, thanks! I was leaning towards reMarkable with the DDVK patch but that's only for UI and it has very poor integrations unless a new one comes with some significant updates. Do you know how I can get a boox or supernote in India?

Sorry for the 3 month late reply 😅 but I got mine through a relative traveling from the USA

I remember there was a coloured eink reader a few weeks back🤔 Remarkable 2 is fine but I'm not a huge fan. E-ink displays are slower and the pen lag is worse than what you get on a regular tablet. Battery is better but look at the future outlook of all the AI tools you will get on a regular apple or Samsung tab.

I understand but I don't want AI to be in the part of my workflow. It's a space where it's just me, my thoughts, and the connection between the two when pen touches paper. I consult with AI now and again but only for some routine tasks, I've seen a lot of people forgo genuine insight and inspiration because the AI offers the path of least friction towards producing something.

Long story short, I get what you're saying but I'm a little old school or even stubbornly minimalist in that I want something that I can continually record my thoughts without having to buy a new notebook once I'm done.
