Depends on company to company - some companies reward work experience, others don't.

For eg, Mck only hires at associate level. Bain and BCG do offer higher roles basis work ex Big 4 typically come to hire for specific roles ranging anywhere between associates to manager (very rare though) and will shortlist accordingly
