Associate Consultant Career Progress

I have 16 years experience in TCS and now I have spent almost 4 years as Associate Consultant. Wanted to know how career path would look from here. What are several opportunities and promotion cycle looks like. Anybody with relevant experience would guide would be immensely helpful.
