My friend from college (Under Grad) pursued an MBA (From a Tier 2 college) later on and decided to get into HR. Coming from an engineering background in undergrad and having no prior experience, he had to settle for a job in the HR field with relatively lesser pay (around 30k per month) since he had graduated at the time of COVID when the campus placements went abysmal. Since then he has been able to grow within the org and is currently a HR-BP in the same org. While he is happy with how his journey within the org has been, he is concerned about the salary being paid for the work he does. His current CTC would be around 8 LPA and wants to understand if this is fair pay according to market standards / if he should negotiate within the org / switch companies for higher pay.
If he negotiates within the org / switching, what is the salary he should negotiate?
HR Professionals / Recruiters reading this, please share what would be the budget for this role and the experience my friend has within this field.
He has a total experience of 4 years (all in HR field and within the same org).
