Trending @Infosys; Ask the manager to relieve from the current project for 2 months?

Is it possible to ask my manager to relieve from the current project and move to some other project as in the current project we have an extreme to the deadline and back to back release. Also with personal life I will become a father by a month so there is a higher chance i might not give enough attention to the project and I don't want to make any noise in the project for that and so better to move some other project for 2-3 month.

Please suggest me!
