Arranged marriage

Hi guys would like to share a story to get your opinions on it. One of my friend(F) got married last week to a guy to whom she met 6 months ago through online marriage portal basically an Arranged marriage setup. They had met 4-5 times before marriage during last 6 months. The guy seemed to be pretty decent till the engagement ceremony. He used to talk a lot on calls and give small surprises like flowers etc. Their engagement and wedding happened in a weeks duration. Since start the guy was not so much interested to book honeymoon trip, and one fine day my friend and him had an argument on it and she cried a lot that day due his rude behaviour. At this time the wedding was just 4 days away and she thought it might be some financial problem so she let it go. The wedding happened and right after the next day of the wedding the guy started staying away from her. He used to spend nights outside with his friends and avoided coming home. He used to spend a lot of money when with friends on drinks food but with wife he used to always ask her to contribute 50% even for small expenses like cab, petrol etc. He had two personalities socially a very calm silent decent person and when only with her he used to shout say bad things ignore her etc etc In laws used to torture her and didn’t let her talk to anyone or go out. He used to keep the bedroom door unlocked at night saying that it doesn’t look good as they used to stay with parents. He was not ready to go to honeymoon neither ready to register marriage. My friend is clueless right now what exactly is happening. He is neither spending time with her nor talking anything about separation. What should she do? Its taking a toll on her mental health. What could be a possible reason of this unexpected behaviour?

He's probably gay or has a gf. Your friend needs to get out of the marriage.

He himself approached her for marriage from the online portal. So I doubt he would have GF. Whats shocking for us is which guy stays outside at nights in the very first week of marriage?

This.

My friend had similar marriage experience. Everyone thought the guy was gay. She got divorced after 1.5 years. Later got to know the guy was not gay. He was just depressed and had no interest in anything. His family thought marriage can fix him. It's being more than 10 years now the guy is still not married.

If he still didn’t marry then thats doubtful. I feel he was gay only. May be he didn’t accept because of social concerns.

Create a guy's profile ,try to allure him. Call him on a date, catch him red handed. Provide proof to court.

Take help of friends and family , if things didn't work get out of this marriage.

Due diligence is very necessary before such marriage, only online portal image is not sufficient. Be careful with such cases.

Well a due diligence agency could be an startup idea, for next generation .

Sorry to put the point this way.

Let me say one of my experience.

I heard a similar story from my colleague (lady),

She said that her husband is very rude and hit her.

Suddenly we felt a little angry on his actions and felt pity on this lady.
But later on, we realised there is an equal or more mistake from girl side too for some reason which she had hidden while sharing her story

Looks like you didn’t read the whole story. Your story seems to be totally different. Lot of things are suspicious about the guy in the story if you read it carefully like the honeymoon one. Which man is not excited for honeymoon? And still you wanna have doubt on the girl? That she might be wrong? That poor girl is dealing with mental trauma right now.

damn this is really sad! i'll say confront with family, and if things don't get resolved then file for divorce

The Guys family is not ready for discussion. They just don’t want to have any interaction even with Elders of the family. Lawyers say it will take 1-2 years minimum for divorce as court will initially try for patchup coz its very early stage of marriage. Due to trauma my friend has started isolating herself. That guy has literally spoiled her life.

I'm thinking he is not Guy.

How to confirm that? He avoids having conversation with her.
