Are your ideals and values more important to you than professional/personal relationships?
It's a difficult choice sometimes, but generally speaking what would you choose?
This question is not as easy as it sounds.
A man/woman has to.kills his/her ego, expectations and develop an understanding to maintain relationships. That takes time and effort. As time progresses , it becomes difficult to inculcate meaningful relationships that spends time with you, stand in your worst times and listen to you.
The kind of experiences you have over your life shape your ideals and values. Everyone develop their own thoughts and perceptions through their experience but the basic definitions remain no matter the course of time.
The course one should take is that an individual should try to improve their relationships over time with the help of ideals and values.
Be humble enough to learn and be grateful enough for everything you have. This is how one should take a course.
But yes, when time comes if you are the only one who is being bent over for relationships personal and professional then definitely step back and no compromise should be made with your ideals and values. That becomes the ultimate duty then.
And that's I feel that kind of mixture of ideals and values within relationships I saw deeply was with with our parents and grandparents generation, where on one hand you knew people and help each other within your vicinity even if they had differences and with your extended family as well.
But today, it feels like something else. That kind of deep connections and time is getting away as lifevus moving forward.
Balancing both are essential. That being said if relationships comes in between, I'd rather stick to my values.
I agree, balance is required. But when it really comes down to it, i think people and relationships usually matter more. That's the main reason why victims tend to overstay in abusive relationships imo, hoping that the abuser will improve or stop.
Profit is more important than both.
