Trending @Cognizant; Are you really working on a designated role in your project/organization?

Something i don't understand is that my manager just goes away during work hours and comes back at around 6 or 7 pm to discuss status. He asks me to assign work to the juniors. Is this something an Associate level does ? And he asks me to take followups from other teams and brand. Is this expected from my level or is he just using me to get hus work done ?
