Are there any internal rules stating that promoted employees will receive a lower band?
My IPF 4.28 and got the C band. My promotion happened last November.

Welcome to C3.. promotion is no way related to band as per policy. But according to your moron managers, it matters, they think they have given you promotion out of their pocket. Also there is a defined percentage increase as per the promotion policy. If it exceeds limit of the project budget and revenue that you bring in, they will try to retrofit using the band..
