Are the recent layoffs due to performance ? due to tech ? due to overhiring ?

Due to low earnings by companies, due to the recession fears in US and other countries ?Wanted to know the specific reason in order to be on top of this situation which can help many of us to be safe in our career, all responses are highly appreciated

Multiple factors:

  1. Companies are either already investing in or want to invest heavily in AI

  2. The very bubbled and unsustainable salary hikes companies had to give to employees between 2021-2022

  3. Worldwide geopolitical instability/conflicts post covid

Yes, i agree.. some points i have added to you comments.. Also just hope our jobs are protected and there is no harm to do any great tech courses which are around..

Companies are either already investing in or want to invest heavily in AI - That's true, some companies are doing it secretly and some are open to their employees about this

The very bubbled and unsustainable salary hikes companies had to give to employees between 2021-2022 - actually i did not receive good hikes.. but yeah considering the ones which they gave before 2020 it makes sense..

Worldwide geopolitical instability/conflicts post covid - and the US recession still lingers around.
