Are Paid referrals worth it?

I was traumatize to see the amount, I scrolled preplaced & topmate, they asking somewhere 10-15k just for a referral.

Free referrals? as you know 1 in 10 gets approved.

LinkedIn folks started this new way of earning, I dm a person, had a conversation and then I asked him whether he could refer me, that guy directed me to his topmate or LinkedIn services.

I really don't wanna defame him, I thought he would help me as a good gesture but I was wrong. Scroll preplaced platform you will find many others doing the same.

True, kindly name them or else you're also part of the problem. This is getting common nowadays as people would go extremes to exploit others rather than making the community better.

People should ideally stop asking for referrals to the people they don't know.

I am in an HR role and I get so many requests for referrals and opportunities just in lieu of resume review. Have rejected so many.

Why? How are they supposed to get an interview then?

Well referals are the only way people are getting at least the HR screening call.
What do you recommend instead, to get shortlisted, from HR point of view?

If from FAANG; give me name! Make sure he learns his lesson. Just give me name, title & evidence.

NOT WORTH IT ALL, specifically because majority of the companies are having a hiring freeze so paying sooo much for a "Thank you for your interest" wala email is foolish.

I do have this feeling of wasting my money, but if you look from someone who is seeking job, he will consider this way to some point. But I am glad I posted this to reconsider my thoughts and money.

Usually companies have policy that they can't take any kind of favour for referrals. I wonder how do these people do it so openly. You can report such people.

Is it ok if you get selected? Just asking? I have referred more than 10+ people in the last 12 months. Never asked a single rupee. But I would like to know what people here think.

My opinion: If the person is a friend, just go out and have a meal with him. If it's an unknown person, I'd rather help without asking for any money.

Guess I'll be knocking your door for referrals if you don't mind. I'd appreciate that.

No . Referral doesn't guarantee you a job. Just go and apply directly in employers website

With applying on website, I don't know if recruiters even look at the resume or jf they are just screener for keywords.
