Layoffs at tcs are not direct, they use PIP to push ppl out. Forced resignation is common if u don't meet targets. Staying on bench too long can lead to PIP and eventual termination.

PIP is a very strong tool that can break the backbone of the employee. Furthermore it can be imposed without too much justification with the consent of the manager.

PIP is the new face of layoffs in TCS. They will impose it on targetted employees with varied reasons. One of them is bench.
