Hi, I am a SE with 3.5 YOE, with 6.25 CTC, I have an interview today for a 1 year contract role for open text media management specialist position with 12 CTC. Is it ok to resign a full time job for a contract job?

Absolutely it's the best if you can get contract roles, you can show it as a business and not a salaried person that saves you all your tax. As a contractor you can save all the tax bracket.
