April payslip just ruined my mood

Just checked my April payslip and my head is literally spinning. The TDS cut alone is more than my dad's last drawn salary before he retired. I kept staring at the number and idk man it just made me feel sick. What exactly are we even getting for being in the highest tax bracket? We give away 30 percent plus surcharge and in return we get broken roads that flood with 10 mins of rain, toxic air, and absolute zero social security.

I'm paying crazy premiums for health insurance anyway because govt hospitals are a joke. You grind your whole life to clear exams and interviews to finally get a good package and then a massive chunk just vanishes into the void. It honestly feels like we are just being punished for earning well. Bhai I don't mind paying taxes if I can see where the money is going but this is just daylight robbery at this point. How do you guys even make peace with this every month?

Bhai, if you start questioning things like where your tax money is going to be used, the only thing it will do is upset you no matter where you live. Trump is spending taxpayers money in the Iran war, for example. But you can avoid all this, just assume 30% you donate or you just earn 30% less, or get motivated and earn more. Some things are just out of your control, life is too short to worry about these things.

You said right but don’t compare America tax spent with indian. 😂. They are still far far better than us

*Faaaaaaar better than us, at least the news channel and media starts head line with "Citizens tax is being misused" common will understand what is tax, here non-tax payers laugh at us for paying tax 🙈

Why do you think every company works the same as yours? Payroll dates are different across companies.

Just remember during op Sindhoor last year how no damage was caused because of the major spent on defence . The freedom we get and stability we get this comes with a cost too.

And what % of India is paying taxes?
What % of India was protected? What % of tax money is spent on defence? Whats the highly spent sector from tax money?

Ahhh.. heard about Manipur!?!?!?!? Red fort blast in Delhi!?!?!? Pretty recent don't you think? Just because you are earning well, living in spaces which are safe, doesn't mean the country is safe. People like you don't question the govt and deserve the shitty infra we have. Do you think the entire budget goes to defence sector, health education, indra everything gets budgeted for quite fairly (tho this is also getting lower yoy) again thanks to you folks who never question the govt. Just for once step outside.. countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, are far lower in overall GDP but way better in living standards. Stop "adjusting" and start asking where is the money going, where are the promises you once made! Sabziwale se dhaniya maangoge free ka but govt se nahi poochoge kuch! The day is not far when it would hit you. India day by day is thinking smaller, we have already lost the golden decade in hindu muslim whereas the world went from internet to iot to AI, and guess where we are, you know the answer!

I know that roads suck and public facilities aren't great and the government is inefficient at best.

But there are so many countries where people are getting bombed and war has been going on for decades.

There's a lot to be thankful for. Broken roads are nothing compared to war.

For your tax money you get an entire society. Courthouses, police, laws. India has good anti layoff policies compared to the USA.

The alternative to living outside of a society is living in the jungle and let's be honest we'll probably be dead of malaria within one month.
That's what you get for your tax money. Obviously there are plenty of holes in this argument if you really want to poke but wouldn't you rather just be happy?

Exactly. Whenever I'm upset that I'm born in india and have to handle all this bs, I remember, atleast I'm not born in Niger, Congo, Syria, Haiti or other places. Atleast I have some prospects, and something to aim to.

Simply earn below 12lpa or it's not better not to work in India.

Its so hard to make India great. Unless the punishment for corruption becomes a*s grilling.

Even if you earn below ₹ 12 lpa, you still need to pay 18% GST for essential services like Healthcare, Education, Banking, Telecom etc.

If I earn less, I will not get exempted from 18% GST that I pay for essential services like Healthcare, Education, Banking, Telecom etc.
