I am an apartment owner. My advice is; don't be like me. Buy a registered plot even if it means somewhere in the outskirts/suburbs.
Why?
You are at the mercy of builder who controls the building under the guise of maintenance agency. Monthly charges are super high no matter you live or not. And most importantly, you neither have a terrace or a basement, just your little matchbox whether it's summer or monsoon.
If roads and Electricity is available, I will any-day prefer buying land and build house on that. I would buy land double the area of usual building area and leave half of it vacant for garden and parking etc. But let’s see when it comes to the buying time.
I am from Bangalore and have my own apartment. I would like to agree with @Gus . Pls do buy plot and then you can build on it. After buying our apartment in 2020, we were looking out for plots. There was one 30*40 plot at a price point of INR 36 lakhs. We didn’t invest. In the same vicinity, similar kind of area is getting sold for 70 lakhs now in just 2 years. Btw, plots get sold like hot cakes. You have lot of upcoming plots near the airport. Pretty sure those would be around the cr mark.

I live in an apartment because it suits my needs. I live in a busy locality with easy access to a lot of stuff and salon/medical/pre-scool everything is inside campus and kids are safe when they play alone with friends. Apartment is a lifestyle choice just like a car and it's not an investment. Buy only if you want to stay there. Choose 2bhk to reduce maintenance cost. Choose a good builder for a better resale value.
Location plays a huge role.
