Anyone has done small scale tree plantation in a practical way? Pointers?

I live in Whitefield Bangalore. We see gulmohars placed by Britishers. Maybe that will thrive? I don't know which is native here. Tamarind, but that would grow huge. Peepal or other ficus? What else do you suggest?

Do u have that much land to grow in whitefield area in bangalorr? If yes then u dont need to grow u purchase organic fruits and veggies.. Pun intended
