Anyone else drowning in undocumented legacy trash?
I swear the entire culture at this place revolves around pretending we understand code written by a guy who left 4 years ago. There is zero documentation. You just stare at a 2000-line file of obscure legacy garbage and pray changing one variable doesn't bring down production.
And the best part is the constant shifting goalposts. A manager comes in saying we need feature X by Friday. Thursday evening it's suddenly "actually leadership wants Y, can we pivot real quick?" Bhai how do I pivot when half the backend is held together by duct tape and hope. You ask for time to refactor and suddenly you're not agile enough or you lack ownership.
Honestly idk how people survive this for years without burning out. Even during appraisals it's the exact same story. You hit the targets they set six months ago but somehow the expectations have magically changed to something else right before the cycle. Just tired man.

You're early. There are no comments yet.
