Any benefits of doing PMP

I have approx 5 yoe and currently working with icici bank as an application owner (Manager-2)

I want to either get a BA/Application Owner or Product/Project Manager roles in foreign banks financial institution. Will the PMP certification help me achieve that? Please feel free to share any other suggestions.
