Trending @HCL; Anxious about hikes because of marriage
I’m not the kind of guy to obsess about hikes because I know end of the day companies will screw you over. But now that I’m going to talk to potential families for marriage, I am realizing that my salary is not the most attractive part about me, not that looks are overcompensating for it either. At least want a hike that I finally get into double digits 🥲.
Am I overthinking? Anybody else in my shoes?
Only solution is to switch. Don't expect anything in appraisals. Without switching you won't have the salary you expect. And marriage is something which stresses you out anyways. For now think about changing the job and it will take care of marriage issues
Don't think about marriage now because marriage is business nowadays. People nowadays don't want any emotional bond, only they care about money, status, etc. which is a harsh reality but with this having marriage doesn't make any sense. So, my suggestion to you would be don't get married at all for now. In future, if you met someone who truly cares for you beyond your status and money then only go for marriage. Regarding your career and salady expectation, the only way to get higher package to try to find a new job in other company and get a good salary hike. Better, you can put your energy focusing on your career growth instead of worrying about marriage.
Been there buddy, not only me many others would agree too. When it's the right time, go for it. Don't think of sal, I agree it's important.. But can't wait for the right job, right salary. After you get married, you will eventually get there ☺️
