Got to know from my skip manager that there will be another round of layoffs starting Monday.

All because someone forgot about their running EC2 instance. 😂

👀 can u give more context or it’s a joke lol

It’s a joke, so think of AWS being a cloud provider. They provide something called EC2, which is often used for deployment.
You are typically billed for the amount of time an instance of EC2 is running. So when you don’t need it, you should stop it so that you’re not billed further.
The joke is that an employee must’ve not stopped it and as a result, AWS used up its own available compute. 😂😂😂

The only thing Amazon India employees should do is leave. Worst work culture.
I never understood, some people say Amzn India is highly hustle culture driven. Pays employee well. Comes under the coveted acronym of FAANG.
Yet, one should not join them?

What's the fuss about "FAANG" acronym ???. It was a term coined by a Wallstreet guy 10 years back for bunch of tech companies whose stocks were performing best in share market. Half of those stocks are underperforming now. FAANG term is now used only by edtechs and YouTuber didi/bhaiyas to loot gullible students.
Pay wise, there are lots of companies which pay better or in similar range as Amzn.
Lots of companies have fast pace work environment(including unicorns). And many of them don't have Amzn's toxic culture.

They do layoffs on very Friday it seems, so that employees' weekend can be spend in depression

Been told it's part of the layoff exercise that started earlier this year

It is part of the April layoff cycle but they were delayed for India

Never they. Are paid double the market standards 🥲

damn

Are there any layoffs happening in Amazon payments division
