It’s not just about one bad Saturday. It’s about every Saturday. Every Sunday. Every so-called "free" day that never really feels free.

Before TCS, the work I did mattered. The people I worked with made me feel valued. And because of that, I enjoyed working. But everything changed after I joined TCS.

This is my second project here. The first was support—I thought, okay, maybe the next one will be better. But it wasn’t. It turned out to be even more soul-draining. And this has been my reality for the past two years.

Now I’m at a point where I don’t just hate the work—I’ve started losing joy in everything. People say, "Even if the work is crap, enjoy your weekends." But how? We spend 45+ hours a week doing something that drains us, that gives us no purpose, no recognition, no growth. That hangover doesn't just vanish on Friday evening.

If you're in Bangalore, maybe you go out, hit a pub, hang with your girlfriend, reset your mood. But for someone like me—married, with a wife and kids—it hits differently. When your career feels meaningless, it bleeds into your personal life. No matter how loving your family is, a messed-up career can mess up everything.

So no, this isn’t just one bad Saturday. These are my Saturdays. My Sundays. My broken routine. And this—Grapevine—is maybe the only place where I can say it like it is.

If you’re reading this and feeling the same—I see you. We’re not alone.

Bro, no matter how hard it gets, do a bit of workout after waking up. 20-30 minutes,5days a week, at least.

Only working out and regaining physical strength can give you the power to find the lost self once again.

You are not alone... Mine is same. Even on np I'm working on weekends. One solution for every reason in TCS just switch because they will not value their employees.

Don't work on weekends bro.. you will go mental.. learn to say NO, no matter what....
No one will die with 1 day's work slippage, but you will...

Add me in your list, I suffered similar for 2 years and now got low pressure project as that old project ended... Every hard work has great endings, but try to be smart.

My project is not hard..they are dependent on me...I am the core of the project..but it's a crap project... Nothing to learn ...but again 9 holy hours to burn everyday, leaving no room to learn something outside

Learn in the 9 hours or make them pay. If you are the core, they will. Don't get bogged down by moron managers.

Bro, be smart. I am the core but I rarely work. I often ask my clients to check it out(it gives my time to have a look and be ready if it falls in my bucket- it’s a parallel work with no dependencies on each other) or ask my colleague to check and sometime I guide . Learn the art to escape from work. If you have juniors or any team mate ask them to work and force them to learn.

Bro looks like you are peaced off by your own overthinking. Slow down and rethink. Working in TCS is your decision. Maybe it is not matching up with your expectations but then you can just find out other opportunities outside and put papers. Why to frustrate this much. Start doing work slowly and be visible like you are important and do a lot of hard work for a company. Do not lose patience and always remember TCS is just 20% of your life not everything. 80% of your life is your family. Prioritize them against the work. Learn to say NO straight when required. This is how you can survive in TCS bro.
