Android Dev Career progression

Hey everyone, If a mid-level Android developer is considering learning a new skill, should they choose iOS/multi-platform or backend development? Which would be better in terms of future opportunities?

Try multiplatform with compose and also get to know a bit about iOS app structure. Swift is similar to kotlin and you'll adapt to SwiftUI if you know compose so that won't be an issue.

Backend is a vast subject but easier to grab if your focus is on building basic crud apis. Try ktor or spring boot for personal projects and expand on your usecase.

But since every other guy knows basic backend and in high supply, I would recommend to better stick to your niche i.e. native android dev as you'll create more value and scarce if you are an expert.
