Android app development as side hustle

Currently I am working as a Java Backend developer, in my free time I am planning to build some simple android mobile applications and deploy them in the playstore.

Will this help me in future to generate some income from ad revenue ?

I am not targeting any in-app purchases.

Create a meaningful app or game which attracts the user. After listing on store, do some advertising. Then u will get some users
