you're making good 💰

  1. What's your role like? Are you a generalist Pm, or focus on something niche?
  2. How is the product culture? Top heavy or data and insight heavy?
  3. What do you do to connect with tier 2/3 audience? Since you've to connect with end user before even thinking of building a feature for them.

TIA

  1. I have more experience on growth side but want to have a generalist role. I have done non-growth stuff as well.
  2. Data and insights are valued , NSM comes from the top such do we need to drive DAU or Retention or Revenue etc.
  3. We do surveys/ interviews

What companies have you PM’d across?
What was your path before becoming a PM at Sharechat?

FluffyCoconut

Zepto23mo

My path was Marketing > Growth > Product . I’ve worked in InMobi before SC and another startup.

Any idea how I can transition from tech to PM? Without MBA

FluffyCoconut

Zepto23mo

Internal switch is the easiest path , try to get product responsibilities in current role.

PeppyNarwhal
PeppyNarwhal

Don’t think that is an option in a service based company, should switch to a product one first

Thanks for AMA, inspirational trajectory

Do you have an MBA, which tier?

And how did you switch from marketing to product?

FluffyCoconut
FluffyCoconut
Zepto23mo

No MBA , BTech from a tier 2 college . I got an opportunity to work on some product projects while in marketing and loved it so tried to get more. Eventually got a full time product role in another company.

I do. They have a solid PMF. Dhanda projections se thoda kam accha chalra hea due to slow market recovery.

Are you also being poached by the other competitors in this space? Have heard about a few names in this domain who have been hiring right off of SC to get first hand insights.
Also marketeer > PM, how did you approach the move, hands on learning only or did you take any courses to upskill yourself?

ZoomyMuffin

Not being poached as such. I didn’t do any formal courses , just some free ones on YouTube to have a more formal understanding of the role and lingo, I also did pm stuff while being in a business role .
