Am I working in toxic environment?

Dear Friends, Recently I joined to new project. Currently project is in preparation phase, work not started yet. Access are still pending to start the work officially. My Manager asked me to be available in teams. I am making sure I to available at all time. During lunch time I was away for sometime.Immediately my manager pinged me and said try to be visible for the hours of work. I'm not understanding, Are we school kids? Aren't we professionals. Why this much of micromanagement required here. Not only this, in all my previous projects also I have seen management is behaving like this. For getting salary felt like Iam loosing my self respect. Thinking to get out of this company due to toxicity. Does anyone felt same at any point of time?
