Yoe: 8.5 yr Curewnt Techstack(last 2 yrs): Python, aws bedrock, openai, fastapi, chromadb, langchain etc other things related to GenAi. Package: Base: 22.60lacs, Bonus: 3.39 lacs Other benefits: Child Care (10000/month ) till baby is of 6yrs.
Location: WFH Work life balance: Excellent Company culture: Excellent.
My manager told me that my salary looks on little lower side, that's why offered me a Retention bonus of 4 lacs/yr for next 2yrs. To paid in July 2026 and 2027.

If you are in tier 2 city… then you are fine . Because once you moved to metro city with family you need Atleast 35-40 lpa.

Yes, I was doing the calculations, my overall pkg including childcare and retention bonus comes to 31 lpa. So, to move to a new city/ metro city I will need a package of minimum 40 lpa.
And also there will be no guarantee of work life balance in the new company.
