Am I the only feeling grapevines like animation is slow
Dear Grapevine, the new “Like” animation is slow and not fluidic. Why don’t you add some haptic feedback and quicker/fluidic animation 🙂

It's mostly not the animation. It's possibly the api is taking time.
Don't think they have optimised a lot of things

Generally for social media you have multiple database. One for read one for write. That with basic indexing for read can improve performance. They could have already done this. More ways to increase performance
