Am I lagging behind ?
Hi All,
I am 39 soon going to be 40. I have been with Infosys for almost 17 years now and haven't really grown to senior position in the organisation. However, I have been working with a client for almost 13 years and the client is a captive. With the client I have been to multiple onsite I.e. Around 10 years and have accumulated a net worth of 4 cr +. I came back to India last year and the salary withing Infosys is really low i.e., around 1 lakh take home. I know that my client is willing to give me 45 lpa if I join them. However the question is really am I lagging behind as I see that many of my peers who stayed in India or switched a lot have been promoted to senior positions and I feel that I have lagged. This feeling is not permanent but still sometime it bothers me. I am too comfortable with my org and I know that they will again sent me to onsite but that means in the event of me coming back again will, I will have to sacrifice promotions and low salary india. I don't know how to expel this feeling. Please help

I think at this moment if your corpus is already 4 cr plus. I think you just look at your FIRE number and make decisions based on that. If you think you can reach your fire number soon chilling in Infosys then you have your answer. If you think you can reach beyond that number in half the time leaving infosys then 45lpa job is the one

I would say think deeper what you want that will make you happy.
More Money Learning Better team Something else?

I am at your age, though senior TA in infy but salary tag is same as yours and have been part of infosys almost 12 years with zero onsite opportunities and part of the same client for 11 years( client is sinking completely and relying on US govt funds. Recently got $2bn .Planning to keep only 75k headcount across the GEO). Now tell me who is lagging.

Comparison is the theft of joy. Are you happy doing what you’re doing and do you have enough money to live the life you want to live?

By onsite ur r referring to which countries?
