Am I asking for too much?
I have never hunted for jobs before. This is my first time doing that and I am currently earning 9.2 LPA. I received two calls and I told them my expected is 13-14 LPA, but they seemed a bit taken aback when I told them. I want to know...am I asking for too much? I feel shy even asking for it.
What should I say when someone asks me what my expected CTC is?
Please help.
It would be helpful if you shared your field, and yoe. Doubt anyone can be of much help without any background except your current ctc

Well, I don't have any idea about what the industry standard is for your field, sorry.
I tried looking for salary references online but couldn't find any. If you have some, then you should be confident and stick to your expectations.
If you don't and aren't sure, then try and find out what the company is willing to offer before you say anything. Try lowering the CTC and see if they accept, this will give you an idea, and then shop around.
