Am hearing from multiple that fresher salaries have hit an all time low.

My father’s ex-colleague was telling him about the fact that in IIT-D(where he teaches) students are unhappy about the ongoing placements as the salaries are 💩. So I verified with some other folks at T-3 colleges and the salaries are much much worse, more like 3-5LPA 😨😱

Yeah, hearing the same.
Not really, still getting placed

20LPA salaries had become standard for SDE 1's fresh out of college. It had to saturate somewhere. There will be a reset.

Yes. People with zero work ex vs those with 2-3 years of work ex were seeing very little difference in compensation because of this, leading to increasing attrition/lack of salary parity too.

3-5 LPA is a good placement for tier 3. Some companies offer 1.8-3 LPA

Agree. If anyone’s getting 5, they are in top 1%

High time freshers salary to be slab slotted. I know this is unpopular opinion but have a plan to make this work with each and every team/department in the company working together on a fresher program meritocracy. Invest in the potential and company own the learning/growth and not on just interviews or college tier levels. The fresh grads are way way way talented to be exposed to dated screening/selection process and even dated performance appraisal programs.

PS : This is just a sad version of an elevator pitch. I know it needs a very tight strategy. So, not debating but just parking my opinion here. Huge believer in new talent programs. One of the biggest contributors to keep innovation alive.
