Very sorry to hear this. But I would suggest not to divulge your personal details to HR. It can be used against you. Take wfh exception on different basis. Note - don't share your divorce issue to team and manager
I don't understand why she shouldn't tell to her manager. It can give some sympathy to allow her to wfh right? Just my thought
You don't need a sympathy of someone to get what you want. I understand how she feels unsafe. Not all managers and team mates are good hearted.. Remember they are not your family.
Can you please clarify why you are feeling unsafe and how WFH can give you a sense of security. In any case, you need to involve police in this , I am sure you have concrete proof of feeling unsafe amidst your divorce.
Take sabbatical and join back once all settles ( if you don't have financial issues)
Sorry to hear this. I think if you have kids, try for single parent option. If not, just inform your spouse is in a different location for few months and hence you are with your parents for time being.
Take off for sometime and relax yourself visit some new place and talk to your closed ones. If you need wfh then mask the actual reason and tell about something else to convince your manager
