I wanted to share a rather unsettling incident that happened today. A colleague of mine at Infosys was terminated, and his experience was quite alarming.
- On Wednesday, he received an email from HR regarding his performance and a meeting scheduled for today.
- He went to the Infosys Bangalore Development Center (BLR DC) to meet with HR. Before the meeting began, HR instructed him to switch off his phone, citing confidentiality. At this point, he had no idea that he was about to be terminated.
- To make matters worse, a security person was standing outside the meeting room, which only added to his anxiety.
- During the meeting, HR handed him a resignation letter, stating that he needed to sign it, and the letter mentioned that he was resigning due to personal reasons.
- In a state of panic, he handed over his laptop and ID card to security, as instructed.
- HR then took his personal email ID and informed him that he would receive his experience letter and remaining salary after three months.
He called me after the meeting, and I am still in shock. I wanted to reach out to everyone here to get your thoughts and advice on this situation for my friend.

Same happened to me today (Hyderabad).
As soon as I entered the meeting room, I was handed the resignation letter. They are not ready to listen to any of my words. They just want me to sign the resignation acceptance letter and move on.
I thought I would be left with my id card but not, they requested everything to be given back and I came out only with the resignation acknowledgement letter.

Every year it happens during Jan-Mar cycle. Those who got NI / UP will receive these mails if they are on bench, if in project it will be based on manager

Just to help myself, I am asking you; does most of the people with UP rating on bench gets terminated immediately?

For last cycle I got my rating as NI (first time NI). Now iam in a project working for a client , is there a possibility i will also be asked to resign or put in pip ??

If they terminate on spot they should give 3 months salary and as soon as experience later right? Or what will be ?

It's not termination. But forced resignation

If they terminate you , you will not get experience letter. So they threaten you for termination if you don’t resign voluntarily. Give you letter and and pay you 3 months salary

Same thing happened to me yesterday
They called me nearest DC as I m WFH and called in the HR room.as soon as I entered the room they told to switch off the mobile .after that handed over resignation acceptance letter and told today is your last working day and you will get relieving letter and salary within 45 days.my questions is that why they have not given 3 month notice as it is company policy.i requested but they denied.if I initiated e -separation on portal then also I will get 3 month notice or not.

I know this incident is real and happening with many but bro If your friend worked well he will never have to face this, corporate world is not a place to take salary and chill. This is karma!! Remember one thing they are not terminating anyone randomly they are terminating dumb a$$es. Let them get the taste of their own Karma! Also at least they are getting terminated by giving current month’s salary + next 3 months salary, experience letter and PF.

Welcome to the world!!! This how termination happen across organisations world wide !! He will still get 3 months pay. He could have refused to sign in that case they would have given a termination letter. The security is for HR protection in case employee gets violent. Yes it feels bad but that’s how work Works. Either he got underperforming rating which was warning enough for this coming or he seriously violated some employment call or his bgc came red

I heard the same from one of my colleagues I am so shocked and sad he received mail but the meeting is yet to happen

I thought infosys is safe company for all employees. At least they should give 2-3 months to scale up an do better.
