I recently had in-person interview after giving some virtual technical rounds for Akamai. Is there any specific reason to schedule in-person interviews considering Akamai is remote first? Does anyone else had similar experience? Were you able to convert the offer?

I think it is to eradicate proxies,, I had similar experiences with few companies, they asked to come to office, from there, connected to interview panel from there systems in a room.
