Airtel Axis card just got nerfed hard 💀

Axis dropped new T&C today and the simple cashback hack is basically gone. Earlier: Pay ₹1000 Airtel bill → get ₹250 cashback → done. Now Airtel cashback depends on “base cashback” (1% category). Meaning you first need to spend on other stuff to unlock Airtel rewards. Example: Spend ₹25k normally → earn ₹250 base cashback Now Airtel cashback cap = ₹500

If you only used the card for Airtel bills before… the rewards basically collapse.

Also: Swiggy/Zomato/BB 10% cashback replaced with wallet value-back (₹200 cap)

Lowkey feels like the Airtel Axis golden era just ended today 🥲. Thinking about closing it, before the next fee cycle.

the pattern for these co-branded cards is a 24-month cycle: launch with insane benefits to hit acquisition targets, then nerf it all once the vc money runs out. the card didn't change, its job just went from acquiring you to profiting from you. you weren't the customer, you were the launch metric.

Credit cards are useless imo, they just lure with initial benefits then change the rules and make people get stuck in their ecosystem. Pointless waste of time.
