Airbnb finally setting the right example by getting rid of PM role

Getting rid of PM role and merging the function into product marketing makes sense. If you’re truly a consumer facing company then you need user empathy more than anything else. By removing the role, engineers and designers can truly collab with product marketing.

I believe program manager will play an imp role as things still need to get shipped on a particular timeline.

Misleading post, but yeah non-tech PMs are really painful to work with, and actually bad for product companies, if given too much decision making power (personal experience)
