Airbnb as a Passive Income

Hi fam, wanted to know your thoughts on becoming Airbnb hosts in Bengaluru. I currently reside in bengaluru. Honestly, i had great airbnb experiences wherever I stayed and since I have a knack for DIY my interiors so why not become an airbnb host.

Give me thoughts as where should I start ? How to find good deals and property, should I take help of a broker? Is there any profit margin involve at initial level? What are extra costs involved like caretaker and maintenance? Are landlords in bangalore comfortable in leasing/renting out their property as airbnb?

I’m thinking to apply the lease/rental model instead of buying the property. If someone is doing the same wanted to know their journey. My aim is to start with one property and eventually expand it.

Im really doubtful if landlords will be open to this. My rental agreement clearly states no commercial activities in the house premises.

May be you will have a better luck with landlords who stay abroad? They are the least interfering kind.

Nope, my friend recently got kicked out of his apartment bec he was doing this for a room. Fortunately there was no police complaint as owner decided to deduct a penalty from his security deposit.

In case you are doing it, how is it going?

I am also thinking of doing something similar in a few years. Following this thread.
