Its good to have fate in god. I also do believe in god. But remember what god or our dharma says "work is workship". If you are Hindu, I would recommend reading Shri Krishna's preaching about "karma". Even, god himself preaches about work and our deeds. Rest you should decide whether to work or just "trust the process".
