Trending @Infosys; After the induction, i haven't logged out in happy mood.? Need your valuable time to help me please

I am from the banking operations domain. Three of colleagues from the previous company became business analyst in Infy. Even I decided to change my domain, followed them. At last I joined Infy for Business analyst, after joining Infy got a project but couldn't meet my manager's expectations. Even I put my efforts to sustain but they haven't satisfied, they threw me from that project. Also while having an interview, they're getting to know that I am operations background not from tech. Then landed in a new upcoming project, from the day 1, haven't given any tasks or work. Many questions running in my mind.

  1. Does a banking operations person can't survive here?
  2. Feels like coming to the office just for attendance.
  3. Else should I go back to the same operations job?
  4. When my colleagues can manage why I can't?
  5. Else I should enhance my knowledge in BA?
  6. Is it my unfortunate to be here?

To be frank I am not expecting any financial hikes, i am okay to work for the same Salary, I just need knowledge and experience.

Sorry for this long text. I wanted to post my emotions somewhere, so that I can be a bit relaxed.

Yes it’s a tough place go be in and needs lot of luck/support/effort/self study to move from banking ops to IT. You have to get the right project where your ops domain ads value but it’s not always easy to get right project. Second you have to invest a lot on your tech (sql)and process (agile) skills . If you don’t scale up on this you will end up being labelled as an ops guy. Communication has to be top notch and assertive. Yes it’s bit everybody cup of tea to do it alone. But no client will pay Infosys to train an operations guys to become a BA that is where the fundamental problem lies. So unless your manager is rally good and can train you without exposing you to client that is the best case scenarios. Else you need a lot of factors going your way to succeed. So don’t feel bad it’s a tough transition to make and doubts can creep in
