After 4 years of coding, I still can’t tell if my code is good — need guidance

Hi everyone, I’m a self-taught developer with around 4 years of experience, and I’m struggling with confidence in my skills. In both companies I’ve worked at, most of my responsibilities were feature updates and incremental changes. Unfortunately, I never had a senior developer or a proper code review culture, so I don’t really know whether the way I write code is good, average, or below expectations for someone with my experience. I do try to learn in parallel and even build applications from scratch, but the problem is: I don’t know how to evaluate my own code quality I’m unsure if my knowledge depth matches 4 YOE I don’t know what exactly to improve (architecture, readability, performance, best practices, etc.) Even when I complete a project, I’m left wondering: “Is this actually good, or am I missing a lot of fundamentals?” I’d really appreciate guidance on: How to assess code quality realistically What skills are generally expected from a 4 YOE developer How a self-taught developer without mentorship can bridge these gaps Any frameworks, checklists, or practices to validate my growth If anyone has been in a similar situation or can point me in the right direction, it would mean a lot. Thanks in advance 🙏
