Advice regarding my career
Hello everyone,
I’m a 2025 Computer Science graduate from a Tier-2 college. During my academic journey, I completed a 3-month internship at a product-based company as a backend developer, primarily working with Java and Python.
Post-college, I secured a role at SAP Labs as a Tech Support Engineer through campus placements. While I’m grateful for the opportunity, I’ve realized that my true interest lies more in development and AI-focused roles.
I’ve built multiple projects using Java and Python, and I'm passionate about transitioning into a more development-heavy or AI/ML-oriented role. That said, starting my career in a non-dev role has left me feeling uncertain and a bit overwhelmed.
If you’ve gone through a similar path or have advice on how to navigate this transition — whether it's resources, connections, or guidance — I’d truly appreciate your insights.
Thank you in advance!.
One interview, 1000+ job opportunities
Take a 10-min AI interview to qualify for numerous real jobs auto-matched to your profile 🔑Participate in Ai challenges join experience garage .. utilize this time to learn business process in TPS … there is lot of opportunity in AI coming .. you only have to be one role for 18months.. learn new things in TPS but keep your java and python skills strong .. try and build network in teams which are dev heavy …..
Ok I got the message but while job switching after 18 won't they ask experience related to the role in AI but currently in my team there is no direct exposure opportunity to ai related development. We just use tools to handle tickets and work on them. And also few of seniors told they won't take TS guys in dev related roles. So how should I prepare for such challenges.
And also related to certification in SAP can I do it without manager approval. Because if I ask for approval regarding non role specific it may be awkward between us.
