Advice on career
I resigned my previous company a couple of months ago without an offer in hand due to work stress and i'm not able to find a job for 2 months. Currently I'm in a state of mind trying something different from tech like mba, government jobs, business not sure how feasible it is. Also I don't find anything interesting.
Kindly help me on 2 things:
- How do I effectively search for a new job
- In case anyone switched careers from tech or has some idea to do it. Kindly share your thoughts on this.
A few insights about me:
- decently smart have been to IIT Dhanbad, CSE
- need peace of mind
- I would enjoy the job only if colleagues are friendly
- very recently facing memory loss issues. So not sure if I have to go for government exams
Maybe instead of jumping back in so soon, take a short break if your finances allow it. Doesn't need to be extravagant. It could also be as simple as going back home for a month. Clear your head. The goal is to intentionally reset. You seem stressed/burnt out. Give yourself space to think. Then when you're ready start applying with a fresh perspective

Is it that bad in Zomato? I was thinking of getting a referral after my lay off. All you need is some time off from the chaos in your mind. Go for a solo trip or spend a week or 2 with your family to reset yourself. You'll eventually find your answer along the way.
- Use your IIT tag and alumni network for referrals and try mostly for WFH based roles. (DSA+LLD+HLD)
- You can do it but also remember that if in future you want to come back, the typical "Indian HR" will be there with the stupidest questions no one can think of.
