Trending @Cognizant; Advice needed from people in QA or other domains!

I am working as QA for one the client where the task is same everyday and lot of micromanagement ( content changes have to be verified and UI changes have to verified ) . I want to switch . Currently learning automation. My current designation is PA (4.5) ( rating 4 ) should I wait for promotion and then switch ? . In both cases how much should I expect?

Also I will be completing 30 months on 26th March.
