Advice Mech to Data/ML role
Hello folks,
Can I switch from Mechanical role to Data Science/ML role in Automotive domain?
What is the current expected market salary that I can ask?
Current salary: 21.0 lpa Experience: 7.3 Yrs Location: Blr
Fyi Currently I'm doing PGP in AIML.
Why go for ai/ml when you have core domain experience. Every tom dick and harry is doing ai/ml and you know that with better foundational models coming up, the first jobs to go will be aiml folks, however domain experts like you would be even more valuable. Try to look for better jobs within your domain, within the country or outside. Think like this, how many aiml folks are needed but how many core software engineering, other stem fields are needed and whats the competition. There are thousands of institutions offering ai/ml courses, can you imagine the amount of candidates for one job. While for core the number of candidates is way less!!!
