Advice for role

I am currently working as Service Desk and I am have oppty for onsite with around 10k AED, While I have automation knowledge I am also given KT on automation as well. If my performance will be good I would then move from SD to QA but will loose onsite oppty as SD. What to chose?? I have a family to run. Could you please suggest what should I chose for long term. I am afraid after working 1-2 yrs in onsite SD how will I switch and what are the scopes for me then?
