
Adhoc leaves aka Sick leave or personal emergency leave
One of the big banking client escalated to TCS that associates are taking adhoc/sick/emergency leaves without prior notice. Even TCS management is also not providing any solution how to handle it but they are asking the associates not to take adhoc/sick/emergency leaves due to customer escalation. My question is, how can I anticipate beforehand and inform customers that tomorrow I will fall sick or any family emergency will come up and I need to take leave which is an adhoc one?

Don’t tell customer about type of leave you want to avail. Just inform prior that you will be on leave for some personal reasons.

Prior means? On the day of the leave? That’s what associates does. Sick leaves cannot be anticipated beforehand.

As I said do not disclose the type of leave you want to avail. But since customer have dependency on you informing them minimum 2 days prior is mandatory and professionally ethical.

Issue is with Client not TCS. Ask the client to not escalate on these. Apne desh mai wo kar sakte hai, hum nahi le sakte hai chutti

Customer need to understand what is meant by Ad-hoc/emergency/sick leave. No emergency will tell you that i am coming tomorrow😂. They have to come out from client mindset to Human mindset

Wow they want us to complete E2 level competency in future insight skill and predict our sickness before hand. Coool!

Ask the HR how and they will provide solution
