Very crucial to upskill oneself in specific domains. I believe the frugality is there to stay. Just like most government reports, the actual layoffs are much higher than what you read in news.
Idk bro I have seen very skilled people get laid off. And interviewing skill is not same as on job skill. So keep interviewing skill in good shape

More than upskilling it's the grit that's important. Once people give up and feel they are inadequate then it's a downward spiral. We also need regulations for layoffs without much notice given that it affects people's mental health along with states revenue and productivity.
That's the only angle to make governments take notice of this trend and address it.
