First don't say it's water Second check warranty in apple website with your serial
Even though warranty has or not just check no water present inside leave it dry and say not powering on My macbook logic board is burst due to short circuit got replacement

One more is that Intel chip or new m1 chip

If mac was from 2019 then safe no one will ask any questions and replace it, new one will get trouble

Since long time any laptop has water detection paper strips which got orange on water detection. Not sure on how you are going to fake it

I cant fake it as thy can get to know due water detection paper strips , i just told hardware team what had happened . thy verified and thy could see the water mark . They asked me to raise an incident and they will answer via incident and thy told that liquid issue doesn’t come under warranty. I just kept my laptop in pyramid shape and I tried to turn it on the next day… it turned on and it’s working fine now. I closed the ticket which I raised . If manager is helpful and team is supportive then it we no need to pay , insurance will take care because for all these accidental issue manger should Send a mail with explanation to compliance team and get dm approval. So 70-80% things is in manager and TL hand

If they prove it’s by water you will have to pay
